A speeding car mowed down a security guard and injured two others after it collide with an electricity pole near RV Engineering College on Sunday night.
The deceased has been identified as Manu, 41, resident of Mutturayanagar .He was working as a security guard at a private automobile showroom on Mysore Road.
The mishap occurred at around 7.45 pm when Manu was on his way to a nearby hotel. A speeding car hit him down before crashing into an electricity pole.
The collision was so huge that the electricity pole was uprooted and collapsed on a temporary tent, put up by workers who were laying Bescom cables injuring Ali Wardhi, 21 and Sadiq Ul Islam, 19. There were eight workers in the tent.
All the three were shifted to a nearby private hospital. Manu succumbed to his injuries on Monday.
Kengeri police have registered a case against driver of the car who caused the accident . He fled the spot abandoning the vehicle.
