New Delhi, October 14: A security drill was Wednesday conducted at a jewellery shop in the national capital ahead of Diwali to check the security preparedness of various agencies in case of a terror strike.
The mock bomb blast was carried out at Hira Jewellers in Sadar Bazar this afternoon to check the efficiency of police and fire brigade.
“This is part of a security drill to check the effectiveness of the response system in case of any emergency like a fire,” the official said.
Yesterday, a mock drill was conducted at Sonia PVR in Vikaspuri.
Earlier, mock drills were conducted at M-Block market in Greater Kailash-I and Cross River Mall in Karkadooma while on Sunday a similar exercise was conducted at the V3S Mall in east Delhi’s Laxmi Nagar area.
Four days ago, security drills were conducted at Batra cinema hall in Mukherjee Nagar and Gurunanak Market in Gandhi Nagar.
On October six, similar exercises were carried out in DDA Mall of west Delhi’s Rajouri Garden and in a showroom in Lajpat Nagar’s Central Market.
