Security arrangements in place for India-West Indies second test in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The Rachakonda police have made elaborate arrangements for the forthcoming India vs West Indies second test match starting from October 12 to 16 from 9 am to 5.30 pm at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium at Uppal here.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Tuesday, Rachakonda Police Commisioner Mahesh M Bhagwat said the second test match between India and West Indies will be played here amidst high security. Elaborate bandobust arrangements have been made in coordination with various wings such as security, traffic, law and order, Armed Reserve forces, Fire Services and so on.

The Commissioner said a total of 1,500 police personnel will be deployed for the match and over 100 CCTV cameras are being installed from vehicle checking point to parking places to cover the entire area. Besides, a joint Command and Control Room will be set up at south ground floor to monitor the CCTV footage for immediate action. He said special police parties will be deployed to meet any contingency and anti-sabotage checks with bomb disposal teams will continue round-the-clock till the end of match.

The Commissioner said special teams will be deployed to check anti-social elements and SHE teams will be deployed to check the possibilities of harassment of women. He said due to security reasons, spectators will not be allowed to carry water bottles, Laptops, banners, cameras, match boxes, binoculars, coins, cigarettes, writing pens, batteries, lighters, eatables, perfumes, bags and so on. The police will ensure safety and security of the citizens in this regard, Mahesh Bhagwat added.

Parking Lots

Parking places for vehicles both two and four wheelers has been identified and arrangements were on to ensure free flow of the traffic before and after the match. Car pass holders of outer gate-1 & 2 should come from Ramanthapur side (LG Go down/ Modern Bakery) and park their vehicles in parking A & B inside the stadium. If the parking A & B inside the stadium is full, then they should go towards Gate No. 11 through Gate No. 1 and park their four vehicles in the private open land.

Spectators on two wheelers of Gate Nos. 1 and 2 will park their vehicles in parking B. Spectators holding complementary passes of corporate boxes having car passes & access through outer Gate No. 1 should enter from Ramanthapur road (LG Go down) and park their vehicles at parking places A or B. Physically challenged spectators having valid passes are requested to come from Ramantapur road and enter into the stadium through outer Gate No. 3 (Service entry) after parking their vehicles at parking place – B.

Spectators of Gate Nos. 3, 4, 5, 6 & 7 who are holding car passes only should come from Ek-Minar Masjid side and park their vehicles in the APIIC ground on the northern side of the stadium. Spectators of Gate Nos. 3, 4, 5, 6 & 7 who are coming on two wheelers can park their vehicles on both sides of the Uppal – Habsiguda main road.

Also the spectators of the Gate Nos. 8, 9 & 11 having vehicle passes should come from Ramanthapur main road and enter via LG go down and enter the stadium on foot.

Heavy goods vehicles coming from L.B. Nagar and Warangal routes will not be allowed towards Habsiguda during match timings. They will be diverted as per the instructions of DCP Traffic, Rachakonda. An additional parking space was identified on both sides of service road of Genpact as well as towards Velugugutta Temple road for the parking of two wheelers, who hold passes of Gate Nos. 7, 8, 9 and 11.
