Patna (Bihar) [India]: Bluntly showing his opposition for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav on Sunday said all secular parties should unite against the saffron party which is trying to divide the nation.
Talking about the recently concluded Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, Lalu said the mandate has led to strengthening of the fascist and extremist powers in the state.
“I appeal to all the secular parties to come together against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)), which is trying to divide the nation. Parties should come together in nation’s and people’s interest,” Lalu said.
“In Uttar Pradesh, Mayawati and Mulayam should come together. We are together in Bihar. The entire drama of the BJP will end there. They don’t talk of development now,” he added.
Slamming the recent ‘purification’ ritual initiated by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at his official residence in Lucknow, the former Bihar chief minister said the former got it purified because it was earlier held by a Dalit/OBC chief minister for over a decade.
Adityanath was sworn-in as the 21st Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh on March 11.
The BJP marked a thumping victory in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections by winning 324 seats out of 403, thus dislodging the ruling Samajwadi Party (SP) from power. (ANI)
