Mumbai: Indian IT sector was caught in major controversy for the past few months for annual layoffs by the major IT companies, but according to recent updates from Software and services industry body Nasscom, the IT Industry will be hiring about 1.3-1.5 lakhs new recruits in the current financial year 2017-2018.
Amidst the controversial annual layoffs and H1-B visa issues from US, the recent reports comes as a relief to both the industry and the employees, which said the Indian IT industry will see growth in the current year with many Indian companies planning to create jobs on site and the Indian IT exports expected to grow 7-8 percent whereas the domestic industry will grow with 10-11 percent.
According to the IT Ministry the slowdown of the IT industry was not due to the annual layoffs as annual layoffs are based on the employees performance through the year.
With many major Indian companies expressing their plans to hire new recruits this year, the IT sector will soon be hiring new recruits, the Asian Age reported.
