Bangalore, March 16: A section of ruling BJP legislators in Karnataka have decided to launch a renewed campaign against Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa in the wake of allegations that a trust run by his family received donations from a mining company and other firms.
Sources in the party said the MLAs have been planning to lead a delegation to Delhi to meet the party high command to press for change in leadership of Yeddyurappa to save BJP’s image, which they feel has been dented by the fresh charge.
Though some legislators made attempt to embark upon a signature campaign, they were persuaded to put the exercise on hold, the sources said.
A senior leader speaking to PTI on condition of anonymity said the unhappy legislators were meeting in groups to chalk out future plans.
The leader did not say when the anti-Yeddyurappa camp would visit Delhi, but added it would happen soon.
