Secretariat premises for SC, BC students hostel urged

Telugu Desam Party demanded that a multipurpose hostel for SC, ST and BC students should be established in the present Secretariat premises if the TRS Government was determined to relocate the Secretariat to Erragadda by shifting the Chest Hospital.

The TDP Spokesman Nannuri Narsi Reddy in a statement today pointed out that the people of Telangana had fought and sacrificed their lives to achieve a separate state for betterment and development. Instead of striving for their welfare, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao was engaged in either shifting or disposing off office premises in the name of vaastu, he ridiculed.

He further charged that every decision taken by the TRS Government during the last eight months was seeped in confusion and controversies leading to public outrage and flak from the judiciary. As a result many decisions of the government with regard to metro rail project, Telangana logo, conduct of EMCET, FAST scheme etc have to be reversed following the directives from the courts, he pointed out.

Reiterating that the KCR Government should reconsider its move to shift the Chest Hospital from Erragada and relocate the Secretariat there, the TDP spokesperson demanded that if the government was bent upon to relocate the Secretariat, then the present location should be utilized only for establishing a multipurpose hostel for SC, ST and BC students. He also urged the Chief Minister to concentrate in fulfilling his election promises rather than in taking irrelevant and meaningless decisions. (NSS)
