Second phase of metro rail project gets ready

Hyderabad: TS Govt. is getting ready for starting the second phase of metro rail project which would cover 81 km and involve Rs. 20 thousand crore.

The proposals formulated by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation have been reviewed by Hyderabad Metro Rail Ltd. After getting the approval from TS government, construction work would be started. At present, the work on three corridors is in the last stage. PM Modi will inaugurate Nagole to Miyanpur Metro Rail Project on 28th November. It is expected that after the completion of the first phase, traffic problems would be reduced to a larger extent.

In the second phase, transport facilities would be provided to 30-40 lakh persons. This will include Patancheruvu to Lakdikapul (35.4 km) which would cost Rs. 9.28 crore. Another line will cover Patancheruvu to Shanti Nagar. The third line will cover an area of 15 km from Falknuma to Nagole which would cost Rs. 3825 crore. The corridor from Dugam-Ghachibowli to Shamsabad will cover 30.5 km which would cost Rs. 2595 crore.

CM of Telangana, Mr. KCR has decided to start the second phase of metro rail and he has instructed Municipal Administration Minister, Mr. KTR and officials to formulate proposals. It is expected that Govt. of Telangana would approve the report at its next cabinet meeting.
