Hyderabad, August 26: The second phase of Eamcet counselling for admission into engineering colleges will be held from Sept 5 to Sept 8. The allotment of seats will be done on Sept 9th.
It may mentioned, that as many as 73,128 students who qualified in Eamcet engineering stream skipped the first phase of counselling. Against a total of 207,252 students qualified in Eamcet engineering, only 134,124 turned up for certificates’ verification in over 50 helpline centres across the state. Due to this several colleges plunged into the crisis.
Less than 100 admissions were recorded in as many as 256 private engineering colleges in Eamcet counselling. Five colleges did not get even a single student and about 44 colleges had single-digit admissions with less than 10 seats.
However, the statistics might change in the second phase of counselling scheduled to begin from Sept 5. Earlier, the engineering counselling was planned from Sept 3, but it had to be postponed following PG-ECET and EDCET counselling falling on the same date, according to APSCHE Chairman Jaya Prakash Rao.
The ICET counselling for admission for admission into MBA and MCA courses which started on Aug 20 will continue till Aug 27. The seat allotment will be done on 29th Sept. Similarly, the Polytechnic counselling will be held on Sept 3 and 4th and allotment of seats will be on done Sept 5th. During the first phase of counselling for the Polytechnic courses, nearly 8,000 seats remained vacant.
