Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation launched “Hop on hop off” city tour package for tourists for which 13 bus stations were setup across the city. At the 13 tourist places very beautiful bus shelters were installed. AP tourism had put up rust-proof iron seats inside the bus shelters but sadly many of them have been stolen. Surprisingly AP Tourism Development Corporation did not even report missing or theft of the seats.
The 13 tourist spots were bus shelters were installed are Chawmahalla Palace, Nehru Zoological Park Bahadur Pura, Charminar, Birla Mandir, Qutub Shahi Tombs, Husain Sagar, Hi-Tech City and Necklace Road etc. The iron seats have the seating capacity of 6 persons. It was also found that per seat cost Rs. 26000.
Our correspondent found that the iron seats of the bus shelter near Chawmahalla palace were missing and the bus shelter was laced with betel spits and posters. Beggars have made it resting place at night. A bus shelter near Zoo Park has been transformed into cobbler’s shop.
