Search on for missing ‘Savior’ who jumped in canal to save woman, her child

New Delhi: Saving a woman and her child from drowning in Meethapur Canal claimed the life of Pawan Shah who has swept away in the strong water current.

Shah has probably drowned after his muscles gave up since he had used his arms to keep the head of the woman and her child above the water till help could arrive.

Search teams have been sent out to scan other areas of the canal.

On the other hand, Shah’s family is still clinging to the hope that he could still be alive somewhere.

Savior Shah was the youngest of three brothers and his family was planning to him get him married soon.

Shah’s father drives an e-rickshaw while his two elder brothers pull rickshaws, TOI reports.

The rescue teams said they are bringing in speedboats to accelerate the search.
