Bhopal, February 16 (Pervez Bari): The Madhya Pradesh unit of Social Democratic Party of India, (SDPI), will launch party strengthening campaign by recruiting cadres from all over the state. This was decided at the state working committee meeting held here on Sunday. The meeting was presided over by SDPI National general secretary A. Sayeed.
Sayeed in his presidential address exhorted the members of the committee to realize their responsibilities and try to empower the have-nots including Minorities, Dalits and other Backward Classes in order to show humanity the right path.
It was decided at the meeting that Advocate Sajid Siddiqui, MP Unit SDPI president who is also national vice president of the party, will undertake tours till April throughout the length and breadth of the state to recruit cadres by highlighting the policies of the party and its slogan “Freedom from Hunger & Freedom from Fear”. The cadres to be recruited would be especially from the Minorities, Dalits and other Backward Classes strata of the society including women.
According to Sajid Siddiqui it was decided in the meeting to put up welcome banners in prominent cities of the state on airport road, railway station and important squares.
He said a three-member State Disciplinary Committee of the party has also been formed with Prof. Mateen Siddiqui as its convenor. The other two members of the committee are I.U. Khan (Gwalior) and Abdul Rauf (Indore).
The brutal assassination of Advocate Shahid Azmi of Mumbai was condoled in the meeting wherein his qualities of head and heart were eulogized and prayers were offered for his soul to rest in peace.
SDPI MP Unit secretary Abdul Rauf presented report while vice president I. U. Khan welcomed the members. Maulana Masih Alam, a special invitee to the meeting, conducted “Dua” while Salim Ansari, secretary MP unit of the party, proposed a vote of thanks. (pervezbari@eth.net)
