Chamba (HP), February 12: A district court today sent a sub-divisional magistrate, arrested with a bribe money of Rs 11.90 lakh here, to three-day police custody.
SDM Rajdeo Jasrotia was produced by a state vigilance team and anti-corruption bureau before the court which sent him to three-day police custody, SP (vigilance, north) Pritam Thakur said.
Acting on a tip-off that SDM Jasrotia of Tissa in Chamba district had taken a bribe from an official of a micro hydroelectricity project, a vigilance team apprehended him at Tunnu ghati check post with the cash.
The SDM was on his way to join his new posting at Hamirpur, they said, adding that a case under relevant sections of Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against him.
