SC, ST, BC and Minorities Front has demanded the state government to release the Osmania University students who were arrested by the police in connection with the Beef Festival episode.
Speaking to the media here on Tuesday, Front representatives Prof. Anwar Khan, Sanaulla Khan, M Kondaswamy, Rasheed Khan Azad and others have opined that some section of people were trying to bring a division among the Osmania University students taking the Beef Festival issue as an advantage. “It is nothing but an evasion on the unity of the Indians. Some section of people were politicizing the Beef Festival for their selfish politics”, they alleged.
They said that it was atrocious on the part of the government, which was maintaining silence on the provocative speech of Goshamahal MLA Rajasinh Lodh, while resorting to arrests of Osmania University students.
They demanded the government to provide academic atmosphere for the students to pursue education in free and democratic manner. The Osmania University authorities have to establish tolerance, unity and patience in the university premises. (NSS)
