The security and safety of women techies in the IT corridor will now be intimately monitored by a body include women police officials and IT employees.
The newly produced Society for Cyberabad Security Council (SCSC) Women Forum will not just work towards creating awareness on important issues, but will also play a positive role in introducing a slew of measures in the IT zone in the coming days.
Formed with a 20-member executive committee, it has Director-HR at Invesco, the Vice-Chairperson, Janaki Sharmila, Additional DCP, Cyberabad as Chairperson and Mamata Vegunta.
“There are about 75,000 women IT employees working in the Cyberabad region and we want to educate them in the next two months,” said Janaki Sharmila adding, “We have six movies on women’s safety and recent interactions have proven that not many employees have watched it. We want to make sure that every woman employee becomes more aware by watching these movies which talk on how to handle situations and ultimately make the employee self-reliant.”
“We will be creating a core team of trainers and facilitators to conduct the awareness programmes at various organisations. We plan to have these programmes on every second and fourth Friday of a month,” said Vice-Chairperson Mamta Vegunta.
“We will be asking the CEOs, HR heads and facilities managers of the companies to cooperate with us since the initiatives would not be possible without their support. We also want to involve the women’s network and CSR forums of the organisations in our activities.”
