SCs among KSEZ displaced seek better facilities

Member of the Sub-Committee of the National Commission on SC’s Welfare V Raghavendra Rao today said that SCs among the Kakinada SEZ displaced residing in Moolapet colony were facing hardships owing to failure of the SEZ promoters in providing adequate compensation and employment.

Speaking to media persons after visiting the KSEZ displaced colony and interacting with the SCs there, he said the SEZ promoters had provided training to 40 people among the SCs but not even a single person was provided employment till now.

They were paid Rs 66,000 compensation each two years ago but the rehabilitation package was not fully implemented. The colony sans facilities such as market and even bus facility. They are demanding immediate settlement of their 53 demands charter regarding rehabilitation package he said, adding he would sort out the issue by taking up the matter with the district Collector.
