Hyderabad: CPI National Secretary K Narayana today fumed at the Centre for demonetization problems and sought scrapping of Rs 2000 notes by extending time for using old Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes.
During a protest program at SBI in Tirupathi the CPI leader accused Narendra Modi Government at the Centre of playing with the lives of the people by scrapping high value old notes due to failure of taking prior steps to tide over present crisis for money. He found fault with the Centre for forming a committee headed by AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to study implications of demonetization. Terming Modi as a new cruel man for harassing people and hitting on women sentiment by raking up issue of gold and ornaments, while dictator Hitler was cruel, he said that the Centre ignored to take on the affluent parties. He sought to know why the government did not take steps against Mukesh Ambani whose daughter was seen wearing ornaments from top to bottom and Gali Janardhan Reddy performing his daughter’s marriage using huge money and ornaments. Though the plan against the black money and corruption is right, the way of scrapping old notes is not right as it caused a lot of problem for the people across the nation he pointed out. Charging that Modi – a chaiwala became Prime Minister is now encouraging the Adanis, Ambanis and corporate companies and targeting the poor and middle class in the name of banning the old notes. He wondered as to why the Centre signed off the loans given to Vijay Malya and other such to notch businessmen in the country and failing to punish those with black money and tax evaders and the corrupt.
The Modi Government should relax the note ban decision for time being until the new notes are released in adequate numbers to cater the needs of people pressed panic button. He demanded that the Modi Government should give clarity whether those lining up in long queues at Banks and ATMs are black money hoarders. He opined that corruption is caused by political leaders and criminals entering politics only to compound the problems of the people. (NSS)
