Hyderabad, October 07: South Central Railway (SCR) officials held a meeting with the state government officials for expediting railway projects at Rail Nilayam in Secunderabad on Wednesday.
The first-of-its-kind meeting was attended by SCR general manager MS Jayanth, principal secretary, transport SP Singh, chief commissioner, land acquisitions, Vidyasagar and principal secretary, roads and buildings, Lakshmi Parthasarathy.
Senior officials of railways, GHMC, HMDA, municipal administration, forest department, irrigation department and APTransco participated in the meeting.
It was a follow-up to the meeting held by chief minister K Roasiah and minister of state for railways KH Muniyappa a few days ago with senior SCR and government officials.
Jayanth said this year, an unprecedented budget grant was given for railway projects in the state. To spend this amount efficiently, it was necessary to get clearances and acquire land where required, so that work could be done at a fast pace.
SP Singh assured the SCR that the government has started reviewing and monitoring all railway projects.
