South Central Railway General Manager G N Asthana on Saturday released the Southern Zone Time Table at a press conference held at Rail Nilayam conference hall.
Releasing the time table, Asthana said that new Time Table, which was got designed and printed by South Central Railway, provides detailed timings on all the Train services run on South Central Railway, Southern Railway, South Western Railway and Konkan Railway.
The GM said the layout of the issue has been designed with care to enable easy reference and access to the required information on various Passenger Services. “This Southern Zone Time table can serve as a one-stop guide for all the information needs of Rail Passengers in planning their journey,” the GM said.
Asthana said the new Time Table, which comes into effect from 01st July, would contain details of 15 of the 75 new Mail/Express Trains announced in the Railway Budget-2012-13. He said that one-third of the total Mail/Express trains to be introduced during the FY 2012-13 would be available for the passengers of SC Railway. He said that these trains would be introduced in a phased manner in the current Financial Year.
Apart from New Train Services, this Time Table features the extension of 3 Originating Trains and 1 pass through Train and increase in frequency of 8 Originating/Terminating Trains and 4 pass through Trains over SCR. Stating that there would be change in the days of operation for 5 Weekly Trains on SCR, GM said the changes in the present schedule of timings have been effected in respect of 4 of the SCR’s trains, Train No 17429 Hyderabad- Tirupathi Rayalaseema Express, Train No 12485 Nanded- Shri Ganga Sagar Express, Train No 12732 Secunderabad – Tirupathi Express and Train No 17415 Tirupathi – Kolhapur Haripriya Express.
Asthana said that 12 Trains have been speeded up by reducing their travel time ranging from 10 minutes to 80 minutes. Arrival / Departure Timings of some of the Trains at individual stations have been changed in 12 cases. Change of terminal has been effected from the present Secunderabad to Kacheguda for 2 Trains i.e., Train No 57426 Guntakal – Secunderabad Passenger and Train No 57473 Secunderabad – Bodhan Passenger.
GM said that the Train Numbers of 4 Originating / Terminating Express Trains and 14 Express Trains passing through SCR have also been changed with effect from various dates in August and October. (INN)
