South Central Railway General Manager Ravindra Gupta undertook inspection of Railway Sports Complex (RSC) in Secunderabad on Saturday.
The RSC, popularly known as RRC Grounds is one of the biggest multi facility sports complex in the country and is one of the most centrally located sport facility in the city of Hyderabad. The General Manager was accompanied by Gajanan Mallya, Sr.Deputy General Manager, & President, SCR Sports Association (SCRSA), K.V.Shivaprasad, Chief Engineer & General Secretary, SCRSA, Aruna Singh, Divisional Railway Manager, Hyderabad Division, SCR and other officials during the inspection.
Ravindra Gupta commenced his inspection visit of the wide expanse of the RSC grounds by symbolically planting a sapling at the ground. He began his inspection from the Indoor stadium and later on had a keen look of the entire complex covering all the sporting facilities including hockey, football, cricket, cycling velodrome, athletic track, boxing, volleyball, basketball, billiards, weight lifting grounds/stadiums etc. He also inspected the swimming pool, sports hostel, gymnasium etc., to check on the standards of the facilities available.
The General Manager took the opportunity to interact with the sports men and women of SCR belonging to various disciplines to have a firsthand analysis of their requirements and motivated them to perform to the best of their ability. SCR is home to some of the most talented sports persons and is known to encourage sporting talent to a high level.
Ravindra Gupta opined that every effort should be made to not just develop sporting infrastructure at RSC grounds but also maintain them to the best of standards. This shall enable sporting talent to flourish on SCR, he added. (INN)
