The Secunderabad Division of South Central Railway conducted a special check against ticketless travel and un-booked luggage at Secunderabad, Hyderabad (Nampally) and Lingampalli Railway Stations on Tuesday and apprehended 1,436 persons for various irregularities.
The check was conducted under the direct supervision of SK Mishra, Divisional Railway Manager, Secunderabad Division, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Divisional Commercial Manager and Assistant Commercial Manager, South Central Railway. A total of 53 Express trains, 18 Passenger Trains and 62 MMTS trains were thoroughly checked at Secunderabad, Hyderabad and Lingampalli Railway Stations by involving 152 Ticket Checking Squad staff.
Out of the 1436 persons apprehended, 560 persons were found traveling without ticket, 778 persons were found traveling on irregular tickets while 98 cases of un-booked luggage were detected. An amount of Rs. 6,47,515/- was realized towards penalty from these cases, the SCR said. (INN)
