Schools to be equipped with computer labs: Minister

Churu (Raj), April 24: The Rajasthan government is working to ensure that every state-run school is equipped with a computer lab and has set a target of three years to achieve this goal, Education Minister Bhanwar Lal Meghwal said today.

Infrastructure was also accorded a top priority and the government was trying to ensure that there was no shortage of buildings, furniture and other resources in the schools, he said.

“Besides core infrastructure, we will make sure that in the coming three years not even a single school is deprived of a computer lab,” the Minister said after inaugurating a service centre.

Dwelling on the benefits of information technology, he said the government had set up IT labs at a cost of Rs 10 lakh each in every village Panchayat headquarters and hoped these centres would go a long way in empowering people.
