Hyderabad, October 07: A student of a private school in Nizamabad town was allegedly kidnapped by a woman yesterday afternoon.
Police suspect the role of the kidnapped girl’s mother behind the abduction.
The nine-year girl, Sheeja, is a UKG student of Indian Public School in Vinayak Nagar of Nizamabad town.
Sheeja’s father, Shaik Khurshid Bin, is a private insurance agent and resides in Vinayak Nagar.
According to police, a woman clad in a burqa came to Sheeja’s school at around 1.30 p.m yesterday. Sheeja, who was playing in the school compound went to the woman after being called by her.
The burqa clad woman later left the place along with the girl.
As Sheeja did not return home till evening, Khurshid searched for her at the school but could not find her and lodged a complaint with the police.
Police investigations revealed that Sheeja is Khurshid’s daughter from his first wife, Asima Tabassum. “Khurshid divorced his first wife a few years back. But the girl was being brought up by Khurshid as per the court orders,’’ police said.
Police suspect that Khurshid’s first wife might have kidnapped the girl and launched a hunt to trace the girl.
