School Principal on Her Way to Receive President’s Medal, Robbed in Train

NEW DELHI: A school principal on Thursday was robbed in train, while she was on her way to the national capital to receive the President’s Medal on Teachers Day.

The robbery took place between Agra and Mathura after Rekha Saxsena, Principal of Central School, who had boarded Samata Express from Gwalior, fell unconscious when the suspects sprayed chemicals on her.

She was admitted in the city’s Moolchand Hospital.

A case has been registered at the Nizamuddin GRP Police Station.

Saxsena was to be awarded with the President’s Medal for excellence in education, the highest award for teachers which are given annually on September 5.
