School principal arrested by AP ACB for accepting bribe

Amaravati: Officials of Anti-Corruption Bureau of Andhra Pradesh (ACB AP) on Tuesday arrested Principal of the Andhra Pradesh Tribal Welfare Residential School for accepting a bribe from a contractor.

Speaking to siasat.com, Bhaskar Rao, Joint Director of ACB reported that Principal Y. Balaji was arrested in Chittor District when he demanded and accepted the bribe of Rs. 2 lakh from a contractor, Khadar Vali.

The contractor Vali was also taken into custody later.

Vali got approved of bills from August to November 2019 worth Rs. 5,15,895 and a cheque for Rs 1,37,000 for December 2019.  To get these bills cleared, he reportedly paid bribe of Rs 2 lakh.  The tainted amount has been recovered from his table draw.
