Hyderabad, January 15: Some 100 to 150 Verification Officers have been appointed in each district by the district Collectors concerned for undertaking verification of scholarship applications filed online for scholarships for 2010-11.
According to a government pressnote, unlike in the past, the government has streamlined the online administration of scholarships. During the current year, students have been asked to file applications along with photograph, caste and Income certificates online. This year, each college has been directed to certify each application in respect of all entries and keep the verification booklets ready for each of the Welfare Department for fresh and renewal students. The Verification Officers will be visiting the colleges to complete the verification process by January 18. Once the verification process was completed, and the variations, if any, are entered online by the Verification Officer.
The applications shall be forwarded to the concerned Welfare Department for sanctioning scholarships for 2010-11. The college managements can expect reimbursement of tuition fees for 2010-11 from January 20 onwards.
The details of Verification Officers have been published online and are also available in the college login. The colleges were requested to ensure that the verification is completed at the earliest and the original booklets submitted to the Department for sanction of scholarships.
