Hyderabad: Verdict of the Supreme Court of India about Triple Talaq has created anxiety among the Muslim Community. It may have far reaching consequences. It is, therefore, essential for the Govt. to consult Muslim Ulema before enacting any law in order to show its concern for the sentiments of the second largest population of the country.
These thoughts were expressed by most of the Muslim Ulema of the city of Hyderabad. All India Muslim Personal Law Board in its affidavit submitted to Supreme Court had that it opposes Triple Talaq. It was considering suggesting punishment for those who violate it.
Maulana Raheemuddin Ansari, President of Muslim United Forum, Hyderabad and founder member of Muslim Personal Law Board told that all those who approach the court for their family problems, should honour this verdict but those who want to follow Shariat, no one can stop them.
It is the responsibility of the Govt. to play a key role keeping in view the sentiments of the Muslim community. Maulana Jafar Pasha, member of Muslim Personal Law Board told that it is the obligation of the Govt. to consult Muslim Ulema before enacting any law. Muslims should also follow the Sharia rules.
Hafiz Peer Shabbir Ahmed, President of Jamiat Ulema reacted bitterly on this verdict and said that it was not expected.
Maulana Hamid Mohammed Khan reacted on this verdict and said that the Muslims cannot tolerate any intervention in their personal by anyone. He also bitterly criticized the television channels which depicted burqa clad women after pronouncement of Supreme Court’s judgment. He said that the actions of such Muslim women are the results of ignorance of Shariat laws. He felt the need for creating awareness about Shariat Law among the younger generation of the Muslims.
