SCB residents asked to deposit licensed weapons

City Police Commissioner M Mahender Reddy on Saturday asked all the holders of Arms Licensees residing in the limits of seven police stations to deposit their licensed weapons in view of elections for Secunderabad Cantonment Board to be held on January 11.

The Commissioner, in a notification issued on Saturday, said that the Arm Licensees residing in Begumpet, Bowenpally, Tirmulgherry, Bollaram, Marredpally, Karkhana and Tukaramgate police stations should deposit their weapons with Police Stations concerned or authorized Arms Dealers before January 6, under intimation to the concerned Police Stations. He said penal action would be initiated against the erring persons by confiscating the weapons and also prosecuting them under appropriate provisions of law. The weapons so deposited may be taken back by the License Holders on or after January 15 after completion of the election process. (INN)
