The Supreme Court has administered a rude shock to the Telangana State government on Monday with regard to Singareni Collieries Company Limited’s dependent appointments.
The Apex Court upheld the verdict pronounced by the High Court in this regard recently. The Singareni Collieries’ workers knocked the doors of the Supreme Court challenging the High Court ruling. Hearing the case today, the Apex Court observed that appointments to SCCL employees’ dependents were against the Constitution.
It may be recalled that the High Court had annulled the notification issued by the State government with regard to dependent jobs in Singareni Collieries. (NSS)
