The Supreme Court today directed YSRCP MLA Roja, who was suspended from Andhra Pradesh Assembly for one year, to tender apology for her unruly behavior in the august House.
The country’s apex court today took up suspension case of Roja. The court also directed both the parties – the Assembly authority and Roja — to resolve the issue amicably. The court also asked MLA Roja to tender her apology by Friday by writing a letter to the AP Assembly Speaker. The court also asked AP Assembly lawyer P V Rao and Roja’s counsel Indira Jaisingh to discuss mutually and take a decision on the letter.
The apex court said the Assembly is an ultimate authority to take a final decision on the suspension of Roja. The court also clarified that if she fails to apologize, it will take a decision in this regard. The court adjourned further hearing in the case to Friday. (NSS)
