New Delhi, January 08: The Supreme Court today issued notices to three police officers and two alleged contract killers on an appeal filed by the Delhi police challenging their acquittal by the high court in the sensational murder of MCD corporator Atma Ram Gupta.
A bench of Justices V S Sirpurkar and Mukundakam Sharma also sought a response from convicted corporator Sharda Jain on the appeal which also challenged certain portions of the high court judgement which had discarded the evidence vis-a-vis telphone records against her even though it imposed life imprisonment on her.
The murder, according to the prosecution, was the outcome of a love triangle involving the three MCD corportors as Sharda could not digest Atma Ram’s reported fascination for another woman corporator.
