New Delhi, July 14: In a major relief to former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, the Supreme Court has upheld the state’s High Court’s judgement that the complaint filed against him and other leaders in a corruption case was “politically motivated.”
A Bench of Justices Markandeya Katju and T S Thakur in an order dismissed the Special Leave Petition filed by the complainant and former state Congress legal cell chief Naguluri Krishna Kumar Goud challenging the High Court’s order
A special Anti-Corrution Bureau (ACB) court had ordered investigations against Naidu and several TDP leaders in 2003 on Gowd’s complaint that Rs 500 crore loss was caused to the state exchequer by Naidu, the then Chief Minister, and other TDP leaders by awarding excise contracts on extraneous considerations.
