The Supreme Court on Wednesday directed the State government to implement uniform fee structure for all the Engineering colleges in the State.
The Apex Court has ordered that there should not be difference between the fee of management and convenor quotas in Engineering colleges. The bench further directed the colleges and the State government that an average of both the fees, Rs 52,000 should be fixed as fee from this academic year. The court also ruled out any exemption for this year as pleaded by the State government as the fee reimbursement is becoming burdensome.
The State government has informed the Apex Court that 113 engineering colleges have filed affidavits in respect to the basic amenities at their colleges. With these orders, the uniform fee will be implemented in all engineering colleges for both management and convener quota this year. (NSS)
