The Supreme Court on Wednesday directed the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana governments to hold separate exams for the Group 1 posts in their respective States. Andhra Pradesh could hold the Group 1 exams under the APPSC and Telangana under the TSPSC.
The court ordered that the examinations should be completed within 3 months. The Group 1 notification was released in 2011 and has been subject to legal tangles since then.
Further, the court allowed Telangana to conduct the exams with the old syllabus. The same order applies to AP also. (INN)
