The Supereme Court on Thursday blamed both Baba Ramdev and Delhi Police for the mid-night crackdown at Ramlila Maidan in 2011. SC said that the violent incident could have been avoided but the Delhi police abused its power and violated fundamental rights of people.
SC labelled the incident as a show of might of the state which strikes at the very foundation of Democracy. “It is a glaring example of trust deficit between people governing and people being governed,” it added.
