State Bank of Hyderabad Managing Director Santanu Mukherjee e-opened Cyberabad Zone at a simple function here on Monday. He also inaugurated Mobile App “SBH Touch”, which is a gateway to “Mobile and Online Banking”.
It may be mentioned here in order to meet the changing expectations of its customers, the SBH brought about various technology products in the recent past. To leverage the technology, the bank has organized its branches in Hyderabad Network and a new Cyberabad Zone was created from September 1 comprising three regions with 107 branches and a business level of Rs 16228 crore, deposits Rs 12151 crore and Advances Rs 4077 crore.
Speaking to mediapersons later, Santanu Mukherjee said by reorganising the branches in the Hyderabad network, the zone has been formed. Towards providing customised services for both personal and MSME customers, SBH has established a Retail Asset & Small, Medium Enterprises Credit Centre for the new zone in addition to the existing four processing centers in the twin cities, he added.
About the bank’s performance, Mukherjee said in terms of big advances there has not been big offtake in the fiscal so far. There has, however, been a rise in non-performing assets (NPAs) in the first quarter, which, he pointed out, was the case usually. The bank is seeing growth in deposits, even after shedding around Rs.4,000 crore of high cost, bulk deposits. “Deposit growth appears to be quite good”, he said, adding that the focus of the SBH on the credit disbursements side was on retail and MSME segments. There was also an upswing on the farm loan front. (NSS)
