Hyderabad, April 18: Stating that about 60 per cent of rural households have no access to formal sources of credit and are therefore becoming victims of moneylenders, who charge high interest rates, Governor ESL Narasimhan today called upon the managements of private and public sector banks to reach out to this segment of the population. He was the chief guest at the 68th Bank Day celebrations of State Bank of Hyderabad, which was held at Ravindra Bharathi today.
SBH Managing Director (MD), Renu Challu said that the ir bank is extending credit to farmers for their agricultural activities and at the same time contribute to the national goal of food security.
