Panaji: Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant will on Sunday leave for a two-day visit to Russia where he will seek to attract potential investors in the state’s fishing, agriculture, mining, and tourism sectors.
Speaking to reporters on the eve of his visit, which is part of a 150-member strong delegation led by Union Finance Minister Piyush Goyal, Sawant said that Chief Ministers and ministers from several states will also be a part of the delegation.
“The delegation will look at exploring investment possibilities in Russia as well as India. We are exploring technologies and businesses linked to fishing, agriculture, mining, and tourism industry, which are directly associated with Goa,” Sawant told reporters ahead of his visit to Vladivostok in Eastern Russia.
“We are looking at attracting investment from Russia to Goa too,” Sawant said.
Over one lakh Russian tourists visit the coastal state annually between October and March.
