In the wake of prevailing drought situation in the state, people should refrain from wasting waters, Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Ramarao has said.
During a high level review meeting on 100-day plan on water works here, the minister said that the people should save waters and avoid waste. Since the state is under drought conditions the people should be cautious, he said. He also asked the officials to make mandatory that the new buildings should essentially pave way for rain water and water harvesting pits on their premises.
KTR directed the officials to give permissions to construct new buildings only when they come up with norms of rain water and water harvesting pits. The MAUD minister also directed the officials to take immediate steps to ensure that these pits come up in all IT Parks, Industrial estates, private, Government offices across the state. The officials were asked to hold meetings with some companies and industries and people in this regard, he said. (NSS)
