Save us from dogs! City residents appeal to mayor

Sayeed Ahmed who resides near Kishan Bagh-Attapur road is facing grave problem from stray dog packs. Street dogs lay on the steps leading to his flat. The area has become their permanent abode. Not only Sayeed Ahmed but the residents of several localities of the city have been under constant siege of stray dogs. The dogs continuously haunt residents, schoolchildren and elderly people. Continued presence of stray packs is challenging the existence of people.

As per Animal Welfare law the street dogs can’t be drove out of the area since these dogs know very well the area they abode in, they don’t have any difficulty in searching their food. If they are drove out of their area they may prove more dangerous. On the other hand killing the dogs is also banned by the government. Sterilization also could not to be proved fruitful to curb stray dog menace. As a result the presence of large number of dogs threats movement of children and other inhabitants, particularly women. The harrowing part of the matter is that when the stray dogs bite children and other persons, the later don’t find anti rabies vaccine in nearby government hospitals or Urban Public Health Centres.

The areas worst affected by stray dog menace are Chintalmet, Nice hotel to Guntal Shah, Ansari Road, Falaknuma PS road, Bahadurpura, Kishan Bagh, Attapur, Eidgah Mir Aalam road, Mustafa nagar, Madan Khan colony, B ka chashma, Katedan, Balapur road, Pahadi shareef road, Puranapul, Dabeerpura bridge Chanchalguda.
