Save India Committee formed against CAA-NRC-NPR

Hyderabad: Save India Committee (SIC) has been formed to create nation-wide public awareness against Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), National Register of Citizens (NRC) and National Population Register (NPR).

Briefing the details about the SIC in a press conference held at Somajiguda Press Club on Tuesday, social activist Prof. P.L. Vishweshwar Rao said people of all religions and castes are in the Save India Committee which aims at creating public awareness against CAA, NRC and NPR.

He said the country’s economy has been in the crisis for the past 6 years and the universities and the students studying in them are continuously being targeting. Unemployment is on the rise and prices are skyrocketing but the government is trying to cover its failures by keeping the public busy on issues like CAA, NRC and NPR.

Prof said CAA is not bothersome for the people of a particular religion only. The Modi government at the centre is working on the agenda of making secular India a Hindu Rashtra, he claimed.

He announced a public convention against CAA, NRC and NPR on January 10, at 10 am at Sundaraiah Vignana Kendram (SVK), Baghlingampalli Hyderabad.

Former Justice of Bombay High Court, Kolse Patil, Social activist Medha Patkar and former Justice of Hyderabad High Court B. Chandra Kumar will attend the convention as chief guests.

Prof. P.L. Vishweshwar Rao, former Principal of OU, Azeez Pasha, ex-MP of Rajya Sabha, VN Rajasekhar, All India President, AIDSO, Zaheeruddin Ali Khan, Managing Editor Siasat and others will address on the occasion.
