Jeddah, June 03: The Saudi Shura Council has strongly condemned the brutal Israeli attack on the flotilla carrying humanitarian aid.
At a meeting chaired by the council’s Vice President Bandar bin Mohammed Hajjar on Tuesday, members lashed out at the Israelis for raiding the Freedom Flotilla, which was transporting aid to Gaza.
Denouncing the attack, Shura members described the violence as a flagrant violation of international norms and warned it would fuel violence in the region. The house also called on the global community to protect the people of Palestine from similar acts and urged to put pressure on Israel to lift the siege on the Gaza Strip. The Shura Council members also paid their condolences to the bereaved families and wished speedy recovery to those injured.
