Saudi shooting: A Teacher open fired, kills 6 colleagues at Jazan education office

Madinah: A teacher has opened fired at an education department office in Saudi Arabia’s southern Jazan province killing at least six people and wounding two on Thursday. The officials have said.

The man stormed education ministry office with an automatic weapon, and started shooting. But his motive behind the shooting is not yet known.

A spokesperson for Saudi Arabia’s interior ministry, General Mansour Turki, said.” it was being treated as a criminal incident and the shooter had been arrested. There was speculation that the secondary school
teacher had issues with management or was suffering from mental illness.”

The photographs showing ambulances gathered outside of the building in the aftermath of the attack was posted on the twitter.

The office compound was cordoned off as investigations continued. Mass shootings are very rare in Saudi Arabia, which has faced a series of recent attacks by Isis militants.
