London February 20: Police officers responded to a call to the Landmark Hotel in Marylebone, Central London on Monday to find the body of Bandar Abdullah Abdulaziz.
The victim was the assistant of Thirty-three-year-old Saud Bin Abdulaziz Bin Nasir Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, was arrested several hours later and charged with killing his assistant. The victim’s autopsy revealed that he was died from many head injuries, along with having been strangled.
The suspect is reportedly a prince in the royal family, known as the House of Saud. The family has over six thousand members. The two hundred members which are closest kin to King Abdullah are the most influential and powerful. The suspect said to be the great nephew of King Abdullah, since his grandfather is the king’s brother. He showed up today at the City of Westminster Magistrates’ Court to confirm all of his information. He had an Arabic interpreter with him.
Judge Timothy Workman had Saud Bin Abdulaziz Bin Nasir Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud taken into custody, and set his next court date at May 28. According to a police spokesperson, the suspect is not covered by diplomatic immunity.
Although the hotel did confirm the death, they were unable to give much information, but said that they did inform the police immediately, and are co-operating fully with them. “This is an isolated incident and our thoughts are with the relatives of the deceased.” a spokesperson for the hotel expressed.
