Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali called on Najma Heptulla in New Delhi and discussed various matters. He also met Saudi Ambassador Saud Mohammed Al Sati and made representation for setting up of Saudi Consulate in Hyderabad.
Mr. Mahmood Ali sought Centre’s help in setting up of Saudi Consulate in Hyderabad and pointed out that it will help the people of Telangana to get Hajj and Umrah visa easily. Najma Heptulla assured to take the matter to foreign minister and assured to ensure positive action in this connection. She also agreed to keep in view the 2011 census while allotting Hajj quota for 2016.
It must be noted that last year Telangana Hajj quota was allotted in proportion to Muslim population as per 2001 census as a result thousands of applicants faced disappointment.
