Hyderabad, August 01: A Saudi national was arrested on Sunday for allegedly luring overseas job aspirants from Hyderabad on the pretext of providing high salaried jobs and cheating them.
The accused, identified as Alawi Asaad Tunsi, promised and recruited unemployed youths of Hyderabad with high salaried jobs in Saudi Arabia. However, he later “cheated” them by offering low salaried employment, they said.
Based on credible information that Asaad Tunsi had come to Hyderabad and was conducting interviews to recruit candidates for his firm ‘M/s Alawi Tunsi Establishment’, sleuths of the Commissioner’s Task Force (Central Zone) Team, along with the staff of Narayanguda Police apprehended the accused, police said.
One Mohd Abdul Azeem Khan had complained that Tunsi came to Hyderabad from Jeddah in June last year and recruited some of the unemployed youths from Hyderabad to place them in their construction company at Mecca.
The complainant was selected for the post of Site Administrator to work at the firm of accused at Mecca, and was promised an amount of 2,545 Saudi Riyals per month. However, when he went to Saudi Arabia he was made to work as ‘Time Keeper’ at the construction site till February this year and paid only an amount of 200 Saudi Riyals (per month) against the clause of his employment contract, police said.
When the victim brought the matter to the notice of Tunsi, he was forced to sign on white papers and his passport was returned with instructions to leave the country after which he came back to India in March.
Azeem Khan further submitted that apart from him, some of his colleagues who were recruited by Tunsi were also cheated.
