Makkah: Middle East countries including Saudi Arabia began celebrating Eid-ul-Adha.
According to the report published in Gulf News, people in UAE, Saudi Arabia and other neighbouring countries began the celebration of Eid-ul-Adha on Sunday.
In the UAE, a four-day public holiday started on 10th August.
On Friday, more than two million Muslims had begun the annual hajj.
It may be mentioned that Hajj is the largest annual religious gathering. It is one of the five pillars of Islam.
– ‘A golden opportunity’ –
“It’s an indescribable feeling. You have to live it to understand it,” said an Algerian in his fifties completing the pilgrimage for the first time.
“It’s a golden opportunity and moment,” said his female companion.
As per SPA news agency, Saudi officials said that 2.26 million pilgrims had arrived in Mina by late Friday, of which 1.86 million were from abroad.
