Ramgundem MLA S. Satyanarayana assumed the charge as new chairman of Telangana State Road Transport Corporation at Bus Bhavan here on Thursday.
Speaking to media persons later, Satyanarayana said efforts would be made to turn the RTC into a profit making corporation. He said that the corporation was incurring losses of about Rs. 1.5 crore every day. However, it has been operating its services for the convenience of passengers. He said nearly 1300 villages in Telangana have no access to buses. He said all these villages would be connected with RTC services soon.
Later, Satyanarayana called on Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao at latter’s camp office and thanked him for appointing him as the RTC Chairman. (INN)
