Satya Sai Trust member under ambit of suspicion

Anantapur, June 21: Disagreeing to the claim of Satya Sai Central Trust, Penukonda deputy superintendent of police Mr. K Krishna said that police suspect the role of a key Trust member in transfer of 35.5 lakh rupees from Puttaparthi to Karnataka. Talking to press persons he said there are clear evidences available with the police through which it can be proved that the amount seized at Kodikonda check post is of Satya Sai Trsut. However he said no member of the trust has claimed the money.

Earlier a trust member Ratnakar had told that the money had no connection with the trust and he has a written proof available that the amount was a part of donation given for the construction of late Satya Sai Baba’s Samadhi. According to Ratnakar he has proof that 12 devotees had drawn the amount from the bank on Saturday.

Meanwhile Anantapur court has remanded driver Harish Nanda into custody till June 27. According to police Nanda was caught while illegally transmitting the amount of Rs 35 lakh and it is suspected that the amount is of Satya Sai Central trust.
