Satta Bazaar heats up ahead of Assembly poll 2018

NEW DELHI: The speculations and predictions for the upcoming Assembly elections are running in full speed.

The Satta (speculation) market have become active and has also started predicting the fate of the upcoming electoral battle.

If the Satta Market that runs into crores in every assembly elections believes, the punters (Satoriyas) predict Congress in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, BJP in Chhattisgarh and TRS in Telangana this poll season.

As polling is over two weeks away, punters too came forward have started putting their bets.

As per a bookie based in Rajasthan’s Sikar town, “In the ‘satta market’ low price indicates victory while high price indicates defeat.”

For instance in Chhattisgarh alone, if a punter bet one rupee for BJP he will get 90 paisa and will get 1.40 for the congress.

Strong competition is going on between the BJP and the Congress. At present, the satta market in Madhya Pradesh has wagered its bet on Congress and predicting a clear win for the grand old party.

Considering Congress a hot favourite in this election, if someone placed the rate of Rs 1,000 on the party a month ago, he will win double the amount. However, now the bettors will not earn much on congress, claims a local bookie.

The satta market favours the BJP in Chhattisgarh, where polling ended on Tuesday.

In Telangana, according to satta operators, the bettors favour the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) to return to power. “The stakes for KCR is high but the mood has slightly changed in the past fortnight with rates for the Congress-led grand alliance picking up,” said a Hyderabad-based bookie, reported Hindustan Times.

The polling in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Telangana is on December 7. The counting of votes will be done on December 11.
